This week's chat is part two in the set of Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences theory. Musical Intelligence! How can unschooling parents nourish and expand their children's lives to include opportunities for them to explore and exercise that part of them?
What is it like, this "musical intelligence"? What does it connect to?
The rest of the series is:
May 5 Visual/spatial intelligence (transcript is still in the chatroom, or will be at http://chattranscripts.blogspot.com after May 10)
May 12 Musical intelligence
May 19 Verbal/linguistic intelligence
May 26 Logical/mathematical intelligence
June 2 Interpersonal intelligence
June 9 Intrapersonal intelligence
June 16 Bodily/kinesthetic intelligence
June 23 Naturalistic (added as #8)
June 30 Existential / spiritual (in consideration—not fully accepted)

Visual/Spatial Intelligence
For nine weeks, I want to go through each of the intelligences discussed by fans of the work of Howard Gardner and his Multiple Intelligence theory. I have a page on my site, here: SandraDodd.com/intelligences
This week, Visual/Spatial!
So the other chats I will schedule now.
IF THERE IS A CANCELLATION, let's add the missed one in at the end.
Original set:
May 5 Visual/spatial intelligence
May 12 Musical intelligence
May 19 Verbal/linguistic intelligence
May 26 Logical/mathematical intelligence
June 2 Interpersonal intelligence
June 9 Intrapersonal intelligence
June 16 Bodily/kinesthetic intelligence
June 23 Naturalistic (added as #8)
June 30 Existential / spiritual (in consideration—not fully accepted)
July 7 make-up day (if one of those above has been missed, or a new topic if not)

April 28, Spouse/Partner
Thursday, April 28, 2016
Spouse or partner, peace at home, support, acceptance, avoiding negativity—whatever topics people bring. Preserving goo relationships with a significant other.
Some resources:
Spouses—Unschooling can make us better partners!
That has links at the bottom to:
Controlling one's spouse [about not trying to do that]
If you're considering separation...
Divorce (Avoidance of, for Unschoolers)
"If you are choosing to be a mother, move beyond playing at it, and *be* it.
That's from Pam Laricchia, at this page: Are You Playing the Role of “Mother”?
I would like to suggest that people read that and consider not "playing the role of partner" in an adult relationship, but BEING a partner.
And there is a facebook group called Something Sweet for our Significant Other
But if you don't have time to read, come to the chat anyway.

April 21 chat, Being present
Being present isn't always physically possible. It's not always emotionally possible, nor mentally possible. Share thoughts and tricks that have helped you regain your place in the moment. Awareness, mindfulness, attention—what terminology and imagery has heped you that might help other parents?

Something about April 14
I will be in and out of the chat. I'll try to be in. :-)
In planning the week, I didn't think of the chat when Holly invited us up to EspaƱola to see where she's living and to have lunch. She doesn't have wifi and has used up all our high speed for the month. I'll request a wifi-enabled place for our lunch, and see if I can use my phone otherwise, as a hotspot.
Please come to the chat and help others figure out how to make imaginary friends work in their favor!

Chat Reminder! Thursday.
Thursday, April 15. Let's talk about having a witness, real or imagined, to help you remember to be patient and sweet (or whatever you need reminders about). I have a new page with notes on that. I can add a link to the transcript later, if you all tell good stories that will help future unschoolers!
SandraDodd.com/witness
Maybe there are other thoughts or images you use to help you remember how you want to be. Come and share!

April 7 chat
We didn't talk about a chat topic, but I'll be in the chat room and perhaps a topic will evolve. So if you have questions or stories, come on over!
