Getting it (August 27 topic)

Like a bicycle not quite catching the sprocket, sometimes people are moving along, roughly, and they're unschooling, but something isn't quite smooth, and then ZOOM! The chain catches and they're really going.

Did your own unschooling ever change gears that way? Do you remember something that caused a leap in your knowledge or comfort?

Deschooling—"Like what?!" August 13 chat

Think of some specific things that changed in you, about you, when you were deschooling. Think of a time when you hit a snag, a lump, an un-deschooled part of you. What happened? What did you do?

Deschooling is a process that can't be sped up, I think. I could be wrong.

August 6 chat on Privilege

What about "Privilege"—the advantages some people have?

I have been privileged to get to go to conferences by being a speaker. I know some families can't ever afford a conference. Others can afford any conference they want. How important is that? What can people who can't go to conferences do instead?

There are other levels of privilege, in families, in homes, in abilities and resources. Think about that, and come and share ideas.
